#406 - Two edits you might want to use more often

Mix it up a little with less common yet super useful edits

When you've been editing for a long time, you tend to do things the way you've always done them.

That said, when you're first editing, you do them the only way you know how.

So either way, it's good to mix things up a bit and flex a few different edits from time to time.

In this issue of Cut/daily, I'll share two specific edits that I'd forgotten I knew how to use, and maybe you have too. Plus there's a one-click survey, a beta launch and a newsletter recommendation to check out.

But first...

Update: Micro-Consultancy Is Fun

“I found the session super helpful and concise.”

Will Kemp, Artist

I'm happy to report that the first few micro-consultancy sessions were a lot of fun!

If you have a burning question I might be able to help with, book a slot here. There are still a couple of free launch sessions to be had...

Plus, I learned some new things about audio polishing that will be included in the upcoming email micro-training course.

A tiny example; did you know that YouTube has a 'Stable Volume' control that applies a normalisation filter to the audio by default?

By default, stable volume is turned on when you’re watching videos on YouTube. Stable volume balances the range between quiet and loud, continuously adjusting volume levels to reduce variations in sound.

You can toggle this off, of course, but YouTube will remember your preference and maintain it across everything you watch, even if you close and reopen the site.

Micro-Training: Also Fun!

Voting is still open, although the clear winner for the first email-based micro training course is Adding Audio Polish.

If you want to be the first to hear when the course launches click through and answer the survey to get your name on the list.

Now I just need to write it... Stay tuned!

The data is in - You're all old!
