#086 - (HS) - Why Rest is Creativity Fuel

One of the things with starting a daily email is that it's a daily email.

While I am confident that there will always be something new and interesting to learn about the wonderful world of post-production, the schedule is unrelenting.

And so one of the things that I'm trying to figure out, as I put this all together on the fly, is how to factor in rest.

As you read this, I'm on holiday.

I had thought about just pausing Cut/daily for a week or two while I spent time with my family, formed precious memories and took time off to re-charge.

But I wasn't sure how I would feel about that as a monthly member, suddenly not getting what I've paid for?

My hope is that most members will be with Cut/daily for the long haul, so I am going to establish a 11-month-a-year rhythm, which gives me 4 weeks off to sprinkle throughout those 52 weeks of regular Cut/daily goodness.

However, I've decided to try something a little different this time around but I'd be keen to hear what you think, if you have strong feelings about it either way.

I'm calling it Cut/daily Holiday Schedule (HS).

You'll still get a daily email from me, but in a slightly lighter form.

Every day this week you'll I'll share one interesting talk that has inspired me over the years, about filmmaking, creativity and post-production, as well as a look back to a previous issue from the Cut/daily archive.

The rest of this post is for paying subscribers only. When you're ready to learn more, sign up to read this and every other issue of Cut/daily!
