#311 - Annoying Things Editors Do

“Know your own bad press.”

That was a piece of advice a director once gave me as a young editor, as a way of being able to know where your areas for improvement are.

Thinking about 'our own bad press' here are a few common things editors do that maybe other folk in Production and Post find annoying...

• Retorting “That probably won't work” to any suggestion
• Unilaterally knowing better than Production
• Grumbling about last minute changes
• Saying “We don't have that.”
• Terrible Time Estimation

And therefore you can stand out from the crowd by just not doing them.
