#408 - My favourite meeting platform just got better

If you're not recording your meetings in Riverside.fm you're missing a trick!
Why?
- It's easy for anyone to use (no client tech support required)
- Instant transcription for text-based editing
- AI Show-notes (Summaries, quotes, chapters, etc.)
I've previously shared the exact prompts I use, to extract useful intel from these transcripts - and even feedback on my performance in a meeting; “Some questions could have been phrased in a more open-ended way to elicit even richer responses.”
But in this issue (sponsored by Riverside.fm - thanks for the support guys!) I'll share Riverside's best new AI features that could create time-saving workflows for every editor.
- AI Video Dub – Replace dialogue with AI generated lip-sync to fix mistakes
- Cross Talk Markers – Mute speakers where conversation overlaps
- AI Smart Scenes – Auto edits between speakers in 4 layouts
Plus I'll walk you through my Riverside workflow to "pre-edit" interviews.
Riverside's Oscar-Winning Bacon Save

Riverside.fm is my favourite video call recording platform for a number of technical and creative reasons, but mostly because it just works, even when things get tricky.
For example, Riverside saved my bacon when I interviewed Oscar, BAFTA, and Eddie-winning Oppenheimer editor Jennifer Lame, ACE, and at the last minute, she called in from her phone while going for a walk.
Riverside still managed to upload her locally cached recording and alerted me that part of the file wasn’t completely transferred until she got to her home Wi-Fi. With other platforms, I’m sure I would have lost the whole thing!
I also relied on Riverside to record my 90-minute interview with BAFTA-winning Andor editor Simon Smith because I could synchronously record both the screen share of his Avid timeline and our conversation and cut between them as individual video and audio stems with ease.
Five Technical Reasons I Use Riverside
- Pristine locally cached video recording
- Individual video/audio stems
- HD screen recording
- Auto-sync and Premiere timeline download
- Instant timecoded transcription and subtitles
