After reading today's issue of Cut/daily it will be easier to say “Yes.”

Digital Make Up Is Easy(er) now...

For some reason this visual effects breakdown from Digital Domain's work on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo came to mind when I saw what you could do with the new Surface Tracker in DaVinci Resolve 18.

Fincher couldn't be bothered to deal with the hassle (and continuity issues) of practical blood on set, so they just added in post.

I also remember speaking to one VFX artist whose job it was to digitally paint out Brad Pitt's butt crack in numerous shots in Troy.

These are just two examples of the very common task of applying digital make up - which is just one of the things you could do with the new, and easy to use, Surface Tracker in DaVinci Resolve 18.
