Rotoscoping is one of those things that if you get really good at it, then you can add a lot of 'production value' by fixing things yourself.

Historically rotoscoping was a painful, manual, labour intensive, boring, repetitive process. Painful.

Today it's much easier thanks to magical tools like the Rotobrush in After Effects and the Magic Mask in DaVinci Resolve.
